    A Texas federal judge has thrown out a racketeering lawsuit alleging a conspiracy involving Kirkland & Ellis, Jackson Walker, ex-bankruptcy judge David R. Jones and an attorney with whom he had a romantic relationship, but a separate judge decided to sanction Jones for meeting with Jackson Walker for an "off-the-record" interview.     V&E Defends Its Enviva Work From Trustee's Conflict Claim

    Vinson & Elkins LLP urged a Virginia bankruptcy court on Thursday to reject "outrageous claims" by the U.S. Trustee's Office that the law firm shouldn't be allowed to represent Enviva in the wood-pellet maker's Chapter 11 because the firm also works for one of the debtor's major equity holders, arguing that there is no conflict of interest.

    Enviva's $500M DIP Approved With Shareholder Rights Intact

    Enviva Inc. received permission Wednesday from a Virginia bankruptcy judge to tap a $500 million debtor-in-possession financing package that includes a provision allowing existing shareholders to chip in up to $100 million to help fund the wood pellet maker's Chapter 11 case.
