A Michigan federal judge allowed car-buyer plaintiffs in an auto parts price-fixing multidistrict litigation to continue representing class members from states where those representatives never purchased a vehicle, saying Monday the representation will not subject parts maker Denso Corp. to unnecessary discovery.

Auto Parts Cos. To Pay $14.5M In Latest Cartel Settlements
Fujikura Ltd. and T.Rad Co. Ltd. have agreed to collectively pay more than $14.5 million to end-payors in the sprawling multidistrict litigation against auto parts makers, bringing total recoveries for the plaintiff group to nearly $200 million.

Hitachi To Pay $47M To Settle Some Claims In Antitrust MDL
Hitachi Automotive Systems Ltd. will pay $46.7 million to settle allegations in nine Michigan federal suits that it fixed prices on alternators, starters and other auto parts, according to a Thursday filing, making it the latest company to settle claims in the multidistrict litigation.

TRW To Pay $1.7M To End Dealer Claims In Price-Fixing MDL
TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. has agreed to fork over $1.7 million to settle auto dealerships' claims in a multidistrict litigation accusing it of conspiring with other auto parts makers to fix the price of occupant safety systems, according to documents filed in Michigan federal court.
