Travelers Insurance on Thursday opposed a bid by Trelleborg Automotive for a quick decision that coverage was owed for environmental remediation costs at an auto parts manufacturing facility, telling a Michigan federal judge that facts are lacking, while Trelleborg in its own opposition accused the insurer of ignoring the facts.

Travelers Can't Shake Auto Parts Facility Cleanup Costs
A Michigan federal judge ruled Tuesday that Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. of America can't yet escape environmental remediation costs at a former auto parts manufacturing facility under lost policies it issued to the site's previous owner after 1972, but said the current owner hadn't shown whether pre-1972 policies would apply.
