West Virginia will mirror the Internal Revenue Service's guidelines and will give state taxpayers until July 15 to pay and file their state income tax in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the state's Tax Department has announced.

West Virginia will extend the deadline by which taxpayers must file and pay their individual, trusts or estates and corporate income taxes to July 15 from April 15, the state's Tax Department said in a notice issued Thursday. The extension applies to estimated tax payments due between April 15 and July 15, but it does not apply to employer withholding tax returns and payments or any other taxes not specified in the notice.
