9th Circ. Rejects Oakland's Suit Over Raiders' Vegas Move
The Ninth Circuit on Thursday put an end to a lawsuit by the city of Oakland, California, claiming the NFL and its teams violated antitrust law by allowing the Raiders to move to Las Vegas, saying Oakland simply could not afford to keep the team.

Two judges on a Ninth Circuit panel expressed incredulity Monday at a California court's dismissal of Oakland's antitrust suit over the National Football League and its teams' relocation of the Raiders to Las Vegas, saying it seems plausible that without the alleged anti-competitive conduct, Oakland would have an NFL team.

DOJ Again Backs Raiders In 9th Circ. Oakland Antitrust Row
The U.S. Department of Justice continues to back the Raiders in the City of Oakland's antitrust suit against the team and the NFL, this time with a Ninth Circuit amicus brief urging the appellate court to agree that lost tax revenue is not "cognizable" as an antitrust injury.
