Deals Rumor Mill: AB InBev, Schlumberger, Bridgepoint

Ltd. is making a strong push to come out on top in the battle to buy SABMiller PLC's two European brands that are on the chopping block to help SABMiller's $100 billion merger with Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV pass regulatory muster, according to a Monday report from Reuters. Thai Beverage has used its Singapore-listed unit, known as Fraser and Neave, to "bid without condition" on the Peroni and Grolsch beer brands, the report said. Previous reports have named Asahi Group Holdings Ltd., PAI Partners, Bain Capital LP and EQT Holdings AB as other interested parties. Grolsch and Peroni are valued at more than €2 billion ($2.2 billion), according to previous reports, though the brands could wind up selling for upwards of €3 billion....
