A California federal judge Monday approved Microsoft Mobile Inc.'s agreement with Panasonic Corp. and Sanyo North America Corp. to end Microsoft's antitrust claims against the companies in the multidistrict litigation over lithium-ion batteries.

Samsung SDI has agreed to settle claims by Dell Inc. that it violated federal antitrust laws by engaging in a price-fixing scheme among lithium ion battery makers, according to filings in a case that is part of multidistrict litigation in California federal court.

A California federal judge on Tuesday admonished a White & Case LLP attorney representing Toshiba Corp. in its bid to dismiss or arbitrate Dell Inc.'s multidistrict antitrust litigation alleging a lithium-ion battery price-fixing scheme, saying Toshiba had generated excessive filings and "I do not take kindly to churning."
