Niche Products Ltd. told a Texas federal judge Tuesday that it has settled litigation accusing it of using stolen trade secrets and bogus test results to publicly smear MacDermid Offshore Solutions LLC's line of water-based hydraulic fluids used in offshore oil and gas development.

MacDermid Offshore Solutions LLC, which makes a line of water-based hydraulic fluids for offshore oil and gas development, on Monday sued competitor Niche Products Ltd. in Texas federal court claiming Niche violated the Lanham Act by using purloined trade secrets and false testing results in an advertising campaign maligning MacDermid's products.
