Charter Communications agreed to pay $60,000 to end a U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit accusing it of unlawfully refusing to accommodate a worker with a cataract condition, resolving a case the Seventh Circuit revived last year.

The Seventh Circuit reopened a U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission suit alleging Charter Communications unlawfully refused to extend a worker's shift change so he could avoid driving at night, ruling employers may be required to modify schedules if commuting interferes with a job requirement such as attendance.
